In the US, Arabs/Muslims are terrorosts, liberals have bleeding hearts and are mindless tree-huggers. Homosexuals will burn in Hell, Mexicans are scurvy little monsters. The Bush administration is fighting the noble cause of freedom; Bush, himself is a superhero. Anyone who believes that Arabs or Muslims have any legitimate grievances are terrorists, themselves. Anyone who speaks out against the Bush administration is seditious. Oh, yes, about abortion, these women should give birth to these unwanted children who will remain in the system unloved and uncared for.

Of course, in reality, there are no simple answers to any of these issues; the lines are blurred. A lot of people rely on the comfort of labels and definitions, whether they truly believe them or not. It's much easier to point fingers and find something or someone to call a direct cause because it helps us feel like we have a little more control over the things we know we don't.

Noble cause? What happened to your humanity? Did your parents beat you once a day just to toughen you up or what? You act as if the human race has been for only 5000 years. Wake up and smell the Republican shame.
Shame on you for invading a Country that was no threat to the United States and no threat to their neighbors. Shame on you for supporting this mistake for three years.
What does it take for you and the other Republicans to see that you are on the wrong track. It is bad know, but just wait tell this train gets to the station, and I don't mean the election in Nov. of this year. I mean until history slaps you in the face and breaks every bone from nose to your toes.
Do you want to continue down this road, and if so, what kind of flowers do you like?

They are reduced for us so that the grotesquely uneducated masses of this country (the U.S.0 can understand it and take sides. That is ... if the government want them to be able to take side. More often than not the followers are told which side to take. The Fox "News" channel takes care of the dumbing down via the air waves.

Issues are complex and it takes effort to understand them. The Bush junta doesn't want to have educated citizens. That's why Bush underfunded his "No child left behind" program, but generously supports his ever so popular "No billionaire left behind" program.

because few people really look at an issue and try to understand its effects. Most just listen to what there political leaders say in quick sound bytes and go with that believe which in alot of cases isn't even half right. How many out there understand the deficit and how that effects them everyday and into the future. But say something against Gays and they jumb on it even though it doesn't effect them in the least bit.

Your right , this is a lazy country and it's easy to look at every thing in black and white , left and right , bad and good . We can be intolerant of others feelings , or points of view .
If we think we have the only solution then we won't listen to what others have to say , close your mind to another opinion . The best way to handle a opponent is to out shout and berate or close them out .

It gives people something to think. If people didn't have something to think about a group of people....they would just be...nobodies to them. And when someone in power tells them that certain people are bad, they believe it and then the person in power is able to do what they want to those 'bad' people without having as much angry/shocked people banging on their door.

Because our society is based upon immediate gratification. What is in it for me now? Why should I wait? What you do not have an immediate solultion ? You are worthless.

This nonsense extends throughout our society. It is causing our rapid demise.

It's not that there are "so many" who can't carry on a meaningful discussion, it's that they are the vast majority and they ARE carrying on meaningful discussions - just not in the mainstream media and, certainly, not on this "forum".
