Sex is definitely a sin if you are having sex before you are married and it has to only be to your spouse. Don't listen to anyone telling you different.
Read the Bible and it clearly states that fornication (sex before marriage) and adultery (sex with someone else during marriage) is an unforgiveable sin after you have been born again. Also, marriage is definitely an institution of God...how can someone be so stupid and say it is not.
I am a virgin and will be getting married to another virgin. There is no excuse for having sex before marriage. Also, I know tons of virgin guys and girls who are waiting until marriage. There are a lot of people who live this life that people think is so unheard of. And just because lots of people engage in premartital sex or adultery doesn't make it right or acceptable.

being raised in the Catholic faith; having attended Catholic schools all the way through college, pre-marital sex was taught to be a sin. Adultery was taught to be a mortal sin. Well, I've since concluded that sin is an act committed DELIBERATELY to offend God. Therefore, I don't think that anyone decides, "I think I'll offend God today by having SEX." Sexual activity is a normal, healthy part of being alive and human. There is no longer any need to suppress sexual urges (unless it involves hurting someone physically or emotionally) in fear of punishment from God. God gave us the wonderful capability to perform sexual acts. Would He give us this gift to ignore and keep dormant. No, sex is a very special expression of love and caring between two people. It doesn't mean the two people have to be married. If I'm dating a woman who I have strong feelings for,
why not initiate sex? Sex was designed to bring pleasure and be performed as a natural part of life. In the end, what matters most, is not how many times we had sex (unmarried, casual), but how we show God that we love Him and HOW WELL WE TREAT OUR NEIGHBOR. That will be the sole judgment formula.

The Bible says; "Go forth and multiply." That doesn't mean do the math, it means populate the world. It is a clear order from God to have sex.
Of course the church would prefer that you would wait to have sex until you are married. The Catholic Church doesn't sponsor any form or abortion except condoms. They also feel that you should not have sex until you plan on having children, but that ignores our biological instructions.
It is not a sin to have sex. If you don't want to risk the transmission of a sexual disease or if you don't want to have a child then use a condom. That's only common sense. Furthermore I would assume that every partner is infected, until they prove otherwise. The small percentage that do lie about being infected, or those that don't know they are infected are not worth losing your life for.

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.
The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.
