If you answered "yes" to these questions, I challenge you to a proposition.

Most/all of you Bush haters hope that the Dems will take over either the House or the Senate or both after the 2006 elections. I am sitting here today on August 31, 2006 telling you it will NOT happen. Neither one. In fact, I think the Republicans will pick up a Senate seat, although they will lose 2 - 3 House seats.

So, I am proposing the following. Tell me why you think the Dems will take over the House or the Senate or both. The BEST reasoned, thought out answer will get the points.

Now, for the money (and I don't think this is a violation of Yahoo Answer guidelines. If the Dems take over either the House or the Senate, I will donate $100 to the charity of YOUR choice. If they take over both, I will donate $200. So, state the name of your charity and it must be a legitimate US based charity.

If I win, you pledge the same donation to the Pediatric Aids Foundation. http://www.pedaids.org/

First of all I don't think either one of us can say for sure what will happen at the next elections. Personally, I don't care who controls the Senate or House because there is no such thing as an honest politician, Rep or Dem, there seems to be no difference in their morality. What I want to see happen is people in the Senate, House, Congress, and Presidency who actually give a damn about the American people and do everything they can to bring this nation back. There are still people out of work, jobs are minimal at best and most jobs out there do not offer enough for the average working class family to live on while the people in the House and Senate make more a year than most of us will make in 5. By the time people my age is able to retire, there will be no social security left, although we have paid into it all our working lives. And as far as the Democrats taking over, then I think that is a good possibility. Even though the rough times started with the signing of the NAFTA during the Clinton administration, it is still during Bush's that we have had the economical downslide. It is what happens during a term that affects the votes and the past speaks for itself. People aren't happy with Bush or his administration. If the Republicans hold on in upcoming elections, then it won't be by much. Personally, I'm unaffiliated and try to vote for the lesser evil, so to speak. I pray not only for our future, but the future of our children. This country isn't going to get any better any time soon until we have a government that works for every American, not just the wealthy! Oh and btw, I'm not taking the bet because I was one of those people who got bumped down to a lesser, more dangerous job years ago when the bottom dropped out of the economy.

I don't hate Bush.. I don't like him but I won't say hate.
Sure I will take that on and here is why..
I don't have to reiterate the failed Foreign policies of an all republican house, senate, executive and Judiciary ... that's right judiciary (if it were truly a liberal court Bush would never have seen the morning light of the oval office ) Popular opinion will come into play on this one because of a stunningly high premium at the gas pumps, an illegitimate electoral process (people don't like to feel that they're out of control) and an overly aggressive president and vice president.. the 51% to 49% presidential election of 2004 smacked of disingenuous private interference and I believe there will be a "watchdog" mentality on both the midterm and 2008 presidential elections.. Americans will forget after a few years but post Katrina... people are hot.
My charity would be.
