.....and meanwhile all the residents of The Big Easy are supposed to sit on their inert butts with their hand out?

Bush isn't doing his job with anything. Look on the bright side. This is his last term in office. He can't re-elect himself again like he did last time.
Anybody think he didn't fix his last election?
He was a loser during his first term and everybody was thinking that somebody, anybody, would be better than getting him a second time around. So how did he get re-elected? I didn't vote for him. None of my friends did. I'll tell you who did. Big money.
Specifically, oil money. Bush is an oil man. Do you think it is a coincidence that we're fighting a losing battle in Iraq and at the same time Exxon-Mobile is enjoying their highest profits in history. He is sending our people overseas to die while here at home we practically have to take out a bank loan just to buy gas to get to work.
I was born right here in the good old U S of A and I love my country. But that doesn't mean I have to love inept leadership.
Where is Nixon when you need him?

Good question.
I think that Bush is doing his job in New Orleans. His job is to be on TV and shake peoples hands and tell everyone it is going to be ok. I do not think the government has done a very good job and the insurance companies have done the worst job.
That is why "the people" in New Orleans have to do it themselves and stop waiting for someone to do it for them. Alot of folks in and around that area are rebuilding without any help from "the almighty" government and they should be an example to everyone sitting, waiting for someone else to do it for them. In alot of smaller towns that were destroyed the communities have and are rebuilding themselves with no help.

Honestly, your probably right Bush really doesn't care, but I don't think most politicians REALLY care, including Ray Nagin. They are in it for themselves. I really can't believe he was re-elected.

No. I think he's just trying to make up for it now, but he's got a long way to go (personally, I don't think he can ever get there). His quick fly-over is going to be imprinted on the minds of everyone for a very long time.

yes. bush was holding out for more money, but he eventually signed. he'll probably have a great season... he's definitely an exciting player to watch.

you might want to pick him up on your fantasy team.

Why is that no one cares about the people in Biloxi? Their city was completely destroyed, yet we never hear one peep about or from them.
