I had my monthly checkup with my ob/gyn yesterday and i have been having spotting on and off for about 2 weeks and started cramping exactly like period cramps the night before my checkup and have been cramping since. My Dr. checked to see if my cervix was still closed and she said it was fine. But then last night after i got through using the bathroom i started bleeding. I will lightly spot until i use the bathroom and everything will be normal until after i go to wipe and some blood will start dripping like 5-6 drips and theni will wipe blood for a min and it will stop. I called my Dr. last night and she just told me to pretty much stay in bed for the next few days and see if it stops. I am very scared can anyone help me?

We did get to hear the heart beat for the first time yesterday with a doppler. So this confuses me even more.

Is this your first pregnancy? How old are you?
I had that with my 2nd pregnancy. It was difficult time. The Dr. told me to rest and keep my feet up. I KNEW something wasn't right. But I did as he said. The night before my miscarriage I went to the ER and they told me to relax, And as long as there was no cramping it was ok to spot. Everything was fine to them and to get rest.. By morning I had lost the baby...and there was no mistaking that event! I went in that afternoon and they had confirmed what I already knew. DON'T WAIT! Get another opinion! Of course if the body rejects the baby, sad as it may be, it's probably better than to have complications later on, before or after the birth. Good health to you and yours!

Over 50% of women miscarry. 12 weeks is very common to see this happen if you are miscarrying the baby. BUT, its also common to spot a little. If you start having unbearable ab pain go to the .e.r, if you cant make it there, sit on the toilet and see if anything happens ( pass the baby). I would call the doc again and get more info. If you pass the baby, it means the heart probably stopped beating at about 10 weeks. Sorry to sound so gruesome. You have to play the waiting game. Some women bleed through their entire pregnancy and all is well. If the fetus does expel in the toilet (its not your fault) let the doc know, they will probably want you to bring it to them. Sorry if Ive confused you. Hopefully everything works out for you and the baby.

I had the same thing happen a few weeks back. I am almost 14 weeks pregnant. The doctor told me to get in bed and see her in the morning. They did an ultrasound and it showed some blood on the outside of the placenta. I had to go back the next week for another check up and everything was fine. The baby's heartbeat was still strong. Try not to get stressed out. When you stress the baby is stress too. Good luck with your pregnancy!!!

Things like this happen and tend to bring the expectant mom to tears of being worried and sad that they think they will lose the baby. But that is not always the case and the worst thing you can do is be worried. So stay off your feet only get up to go to the bathroom. Dont' do anything. Drink a lot of fluids. But keep in mind that this happens and doesn't always end in miscarrige. I spotted. My friend was bleeding menstrally and she is still pregnant. That was months ago by the way. And I now have a little baby. It all depends on you and what is happening in your case.

As your doctor said, try to stay in bed for at least a week; get up only to use the bathroom, shower and eat. Also, avoid heavy lifting, douching and vaginal sexual intercourse even after the bleeding stops, unless your Gyno tells you otherwise. If bleeding becomes heavier, cramps get stronger, or you notice any vaginal discharge of water, clotted blood or membranous material, don't wait; call your attending OB/GYN or go to the nearest emergency room STAT and request that they reach him/her. These may be symptoms of an imminent miscarriage and require immediate medical attention. I hope you and your unborn baby the best of luck, and my best wishes for a healthy pregnancy and uncomplicated delivery.

When I was 13 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby, I woke up soaked in blood and amniotic fluid. It turned out that the baby's placenta had torn and some fluid leaked out. I was ordered to stay off my feet and not lift anything heavy for a month. I carried the baby to term and she's a healthy one-year-old now. If your doc thinks everything is okay, then don't worry. That can only make things worse. Good luck. I hope everything turns out okay.

I agree rest. If yo are going to miscarry unfortunately there is nothing the dr can do. Request an ultrasound to check for fetal heartbeat

Stay off you feet. I have misscarried 3 times. just listen and stay off you feet. I would also go in and have them take your hcg level that is you pregnancy hormon level it should double every 48 hours and then you can really know if everything is ok. Your in my prayer and i hope everything works out for you. Best of luck

Rest like your dr says. Also, you may want to call and request an ultrasound to check things out.
