Boy, have I been where you are. You need to take a break until you can look at a picture of a man and not start bawling or running for the scissors.
It might take a few months or a year. Depends on how attached you were and how long you dated.
I read somewhere that is takes 6 times as long to get over as it does to get attached.
So if you were in love for 2 months, it could take a year.
Don't worry about it. Live your life, go to the park, take bubblebaths, walk around the house eating chocolate in your underpants. Be good to yourself, and think nice thoughts.
Do something you always wanted to do, but couldn't because you were a couple--like paint your kitchen purple, wear silly hats,
coach little league--get a big ole tattoo or pierce your eyeball.
Try not to think about him. Every time you catch yourself, say a quick prayer or meditation, or recite the Periodic Table of Elements--even sing a song--you can't think two things at once.
Take a class, volunteer in your neighborhood. It really DOES help to help someone else.
Think of yourself, not as single, pining for a man, but busy with your wonderful life, and if a man can keep up with you, fine--if not, HIS LOSS, not yours.
Good luck hon--The best revenge is happiness.

As long as you feel like. My guess is that that time will be up when you find the right guy. In my opinion, it will have nothing to do with the amount of seconds that you wait from your previous relationship to the next, but more on how long it will take for the next guy to feel right for you to appear.

That all depends on what you want. If I ever get divorced, I will stay single FOREVER and LOVE every minute of it!
You just have to be comfortable with yourself and realize that you really don't need anyone else in your life to make yourself "complete." But, if you really WANT to be in a relationship again, then, do so whenever you feel ready.

People have all different types of formulas. The one I tried was half the time of the longest relationship. What I found was, setting a time limit wasn't realistic. Emotions and time were expending during the relationship, and it takes time to repair and regroup when a relationship dissolves. So I'd say, take as much time as you need.

You shouldn't date anyone else as long as you're still thinking about this recent guy because you can't give another man a fair chance. You have to allow yourself time to get this one out of your system. I hope he didn't leave permanent scars.

I would wait a couple of months at least to get your head straight and your feelings back in order. Do some things you haven't done in a long time and just enjoy you again........ when your ready, you will know it....... blessed be.
