"Friendship is never established as an understood relation. It is a miracle which requires constant proofs. It is an exercise of the purest imagination and of the rarest faith."
Henry David Thoreau quotes (American essayist, poet and philosopher, 1817-1862)
"The only way to have a friend is to be one."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
A friend might well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature."
Ralph Waldo Emerson quotes (American poet, lecturer and essayist, 1803-1882)
Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."
Anais Nin quotes (French born American author of novels and short stories, 1903-1977)
friendship is priceless...but we have to remember..I shall quote a story I once read...friends can be there for a reason, a season and for a lifetime...and each of these friendships enrich our lives...moulds us into who we are and who we will be.
'Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.-- Anonymous'
..sometimes we learn from our friend, learn from their mistakes, learn while helping them thru a rough time and vice versa...and then they are there to lend a helping hand, be a shoulder to cry on and the hand that lifts u up when u have fallen...
sometimes, unfortunately when a friendship turns sour...we become bitter and lose trust in people but then comes along another friend who will reinstate tat trust....
someone wise wrote tis poem(I am not sure of the persons name tho)
FRIENDSHIP IS A PRICELESS GIFT
THAT CANNOT BE BOUGHT OR SOLD
BUT ITS VALUE IS FAR GREATER
THAN THE MOUNTAIN MADE OF GOLD
FOR GOLD IS COLD & LIFELESS
IT CAN NEITHER SEE NOR HEAR
& IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE
IT IS POWER LESS 2 CHEER--
IT HAS NO EARS 2 LISTEN
NOR HEART 2 UNDERSTAND
IT CANNOT BRING U CONFORT
OR REACH OUT A HELPING HAND
SO WHEN U ASK
GOD FOR A GIFT
BE THANKFUL IF HE SENDS
NOT DIAMONDS, PEARLS OR RICHES
BUT THE LOVE OF REAL TRUE FRIENDS

Friendship is a word that describes two or more people that have certain ideas or likes-dislikes in common. The function of a friend is to make the other person feel liked or loved. To act and maintain a friendship, one must spend time talking or 'having fun' etc. with the other friend (s). Otherwise it would just be an acquaintanceship...so what is the value of friendship? How much is it worth to be liked or loved? It really depends on you. It's all perspective....Ask a friend next time. I am just an acquaintance.

I think the true value of friendship should be priceless but these days everything has a price and sometimes it really hurts me thinking about that.

I don't think you can place a value on friendship. To me that just trivializes the relationship.

the value of friendship is perspective, without friendship, life would simply be busy or inactive, nothing more than gray, but with friend the colors of laughter and tears can be seen.

A value of a friendship is forgetting everything that is you adn getting to know someone that might be there for the rest of your life...
And if that doesn't work...

Friendship can exist only so long as it does not transgress your personal sense of right and wrong or theirs.
