try a library they have all local papers in microfilm or disc
i used them to research family history

Go to any library, they should have racks of microfilm with archives of local and national papers, and they will probably be happy to show you how to use the viewing equipment.

Libraries used to have them on microfiche and some still do but now they are usually on a dedicated computer. GO in and ask, they'll show you.
