It's not the players, it's that poor little ball getting his *ss smoked across the court at 120 mph!!! You'd scream too!

When you see a tennis ball coming toward you at 80 miles per hour, wouldn't you scream? Actually, there is something that. When the ball is flying toward you, you tend to get over-anxious. To set up your next hit, it helps to hum under your breath for rythm, then cracendo into a scream as you exhale while hitting the ball. It helps rythm and power.

Tennis is different first of all. Second of all not all tennis players scream. I am a tennis player who hits hard and I never scream.Pros scream of intimidation and to give more power. Sometimes they do it to distract their opponent. But that rare.

Releasing or exhaling air from your lungs while performing a motion causes more adrenaline to be released into your bloodstream. The scream in tennis actually makes your hit stronger and more powerful.

They scream for the same reason martial artists scream when they break boards and bricks, it gives you a little bit more power. Don't know exactly why but it does.

It´s like karate...when you need a focused point to point contact you scream. I don´t know why in soccer that doesn´t happen.

Just like martial arts. Hurghhh argghhhh.... Scare your appointment. Pysch out your appointment, making them think your hits are more powerful than they are. Just like animal defenses, animals hiss and roar to scare the opponent.

They do that because they are putting all their strength into that one swipe. It's the same reason why a warrior would maybe shout "Ha!" or something if the swipe their sword with all their might.
