Most importantly you need to prioritize what is important in your life. If you can not go without a drink now, how are you going to for over 10 months?
I remember being is social situations where it is obvious you aren't drinking and people would assume you are pregnant and start all of the questions that bothered me. If you are concerned about people seeing you without a drink and budding into your privacy have the bartender mix up a non-alcoholic drink that will look like a typical alcoholic drink. Cranberry and 7-up are good!
FYI - if you really want to get pregnant husband should stay away from alcohol as it can affect his little troopers ability to swim.

When I got pregnant I was not trying or not trying. (I amost sort of gave up thinking I could since it took me over 2 years to get pregnant the first time). So I never thought in a million years I was pregnant and was living a normal life with responsible drinking. I stopped when I found out it was. My daughter is perfectly healthy. Since you are seriously trying, I would keep it down to a minimum like a small glass of wine if you feel you need it. Just think, it will start to prepare your system for 9 very sober months ahead.

I would say yes, but definitely in moderation. It means a glass of wine or an occasional beer is not going to cause any harm to the fetus or later in the pregnancy. I think the US is being overly cautious with alcohol during pregnancy. The Europeans have a lot healthier approach. The key is moderation.
And just an interesting fact. If a woman has premature contractions she should have a shot of alcohol, which is known to relax the uterus. That is right after calling the doctor of course.

If a pregnant woman has one or two drinks before she realizes she is pregnant, can it harm the baby?
It is unlikely that the occasional drink a woman takes before she realizes she is pregnant will harm her baby. The baby’s brain and other organs begin developing around the third week of pregnancy, however, and are vulnerable to damage in these early weeks. Because no amount of alcohol is proven safe, a woman should stop drinking immediately if she even suspects she could be pregnant, and she should abstain from all alcohol if attempting to become pregnant.

NO if you are trying to get pregnant or not...if there is a chance you could get pregnant (unprotected sex) you should not not not be drinking...the early weeks are when it does the most damage because the first 4 weeks SO much changes and grows ~ it's a huge risk to take and think about how u would feel if u do get pregnant and it comes out deformed...you will no doubt be thinking it was so not worth the drink to mess my child up for life

You and your husband should not be drinking, smoking or doing illicit drugs if you are trying to get pregnant. Remember that anything you do can transmit to the babe - no matter how small a speck he or she is. There have even be recommendations that women trying to conceive be on the same folic acid pregnant women are. The sacrifices you have to make are well worth it to ensure a happy baby.

I do not think that anything bad would really happen, before I realized I was pregnant I had a few drinks, but if you are trying to get pregnant then I would stop and drink alot of orange juice and start to be really healthy now.

I don't drink at all, but I gave up all caffiene and pain meds when I started trying to conceive.
I wouldn't drink alcohol if I drank either.
Are you talking a beer or a glass of wine??? How much are you talking about. Once the baby has implanted and the placenta is functioning your baby is getting the affects.
I'd give it up now and consider it one of the many sacrifices you'll make as a mom.
The first 3 months are crucial for development. Organs, bones, limbs, you name it, it is all forming now.

You may not be pregnant, but is it too much for you to not drink for a while until you find out?
Treat your body as if you are pregnant and get into good habits now. Do you want to tell your child when (s)he grows up that you drank whilst pregnant?
Please quit drinking- you should have done this anyway if you are trying to conceive.

I would NOT drink if I'm trying to get pregnant. The alcohol could result in a miscarriage. Better safe than sorry!
