Okay, first off, eye pencil is a BAD idea, you'll come out looking like a drag queen. Not that that is bad for a drag queen, but for a woman in every day life...not so hot. Use a brow powder like Cliniques brow powder. Its about 15 bucks and will last years. Ive had mine for 2 years now. And Im nowhere near out, using it everyday almost. First, for trimming and plucking, the key is to never overpluck. Thin brows age you. Hold a pencil or something else straight against the side of your nose. Anything in the middle beyond the pencil goes. Other than strays, dont pluck the large part of your brow. Graduate the plucking up to the arch. Take the pencil again and hold it to the side of your nose, crossing through the pupil and iris. Where the pencil lands in your brow is where the arch should naturally be. Do this again with it to the side of your nose and the outer corner of your eye. This is where your brow should end. There are great sites on exactly how to do it, just look around. To trim, take a brow brush (similar to a mascara brush, not the flat one) and brush the hair up. Trim the hairs that go above the top line of your brow. At the end tips trim them where the pencil ends. Fill in any gaps with the powder

I was a victim of using too dark of a pencil. I have very light eyebrows that don't grow hair in the right places. I now use a lighter pencil and don't draw on my eyebrows but lightly brush the pencil along until I see my eyebrows come to shape. I now put on my eyebrows first and then apply the rest of my make-up so my eyebrows look natural and light.

If you wish to use an eyebrow pencil then please use it sparingly. Nothing looks worse than a visual definate line. I use an eye brow brush - this eliminates the line and blends easier with the eye brow. I only trim between the eye brows. If you ask a beautician they should be able to show you the correct way to trim them - I know one point must be parallel to the inside corner of the eye.

For formal occasions, I put a tiny pencil dot at the base of my lower lashes with the pencil. It looks very natural!
