I admire your friend's ex-boyfriend for not taking the plunge with gay marriage - at least he has some respect for the sanctity of marriage and the appropriate worship of God. While his behavior remains sinful, perhaps one day he will realize that gay behavior is truly not a ticket to eternal salvation.
Gay marriage is along the same lines of worshipping Satan.
The same applies for married white men who molest children - worshipping Satan.
The Old Testament God could no longer stand watching the Hebrews sacrifice children to Moloch, so the Babylonians took them away in 586 BC. Yet, the corrupt priesthood of Levi (the forerunners of today's Zionists) kept insisting that Devil worship was the right worship.

Gay marriage existed in other countries. Yes. it's true. God didn't institute ****, by the way and I'm sick of that argument. it's the dumbest argument out there. Come up with something new. God doesn't do anything but make suggestions, and lo, very few people listen to them anymore. So maybe you all should just shut up and listen.
I don't care what your book says. I can give you historical ethnographic examples that are backed up by separate studies. The Bible is not evidence. Get a new argument.
Your friend isn't Wiccan, you're also a liar or he is. Wiccans do not believe that God instituted marriage because God didn't. Handfasting is a union of souls, not bodies, therefore the gender of the physical body is of no consequence as souls do not have gender. And since Pagans recognize that the world is rediculously overpopulated, the need to breed is also a moot point. Funny thing.. most handfasted Pagans I know aren't legally married anyway- Unless it becomes an insurance issue. And yet they still manage to stay together for years and be happy and successful. Gay or otherwise.

"One Man and One Woman"
It is taken as an article of faith by the anti-gay marriage bigots that marriage has always been between one man and one woman. That is not true. Historically, many, if not most marriages were between one man and multiple women. This is still true in parts of the world, including, although illegally, some in the Western U.S.
Trying to justify your bigotry through historical evidence works a lot better if you've actually examined the evidence. Or, at least, if no one else has examined that evidence and can contradict you.
Or maybe just know one wants to marry your best friends ex boyfriend its easy to be against something if youve never been asked !

If the Government is going to be "the keepers" of marriage, then they need to devise a plan that will provide the same benefits as "marriage" to same sex couples - these couples have families and work just as hard as any other American. All families deserve equal protection under the law. No one religion's beliefs should be a factor, for the government, in determining who gets protection and who doesn't.
If a Church has determined that they do not approve same sex marriage then that's their decision not to marry a same sex couples. And that's their right.
To say "God" has instituted marriage for only a man and a women is your friends opinion, it's not a fact. He may believe that it's mocking God...but I don't. So he has the choice, for himself,
not to get married...and if that's what he believes about God, then good for him...but he can't decide what I believe about God.
Also, I believe that God is far above petty human thinking....jealousy, anger, fear, hate....that's not what God is. I don't believe God looks at gay people and thinks "How dare you mock me, I'm so hurt and angry" ...If "she" did "he" wouldn't really be God.

Marriage rights are controlled by the state - things like taxation, inheritance, and adoption. God did not institute these rights. In fact, the US was founded on the separation of church and state, so religion should have no say in matters regarding marriage.
I fail to see how allowing to men or women in love in any way "dilutes" or "mocks" the marriage of a man to a woman.
True Christians work for equality, tolerance and understanding and would never oppose gay marriage. Hypocritical bigots do the opposite. It's clear which side of the fence you are on.

No more so than the fact that atheists, Pagans, and other people who don't believe in the Judeo-Christian God can legally marry at the courthouse. I'm a Pagan who loves an atheist; if one of us was male, our marriage would be legal, but not your friend's idea of moral. There is a huge difference between those two concepts, "legal" and "moral." Morality is decided by individuals; law is a lowest-common-denominator for everybody. It's not a smart argument at all, because many legally married couples are free to act in ways that aren't certain Christians' idea of a "godly" marriage.

I have often heard the argument made that the Bible defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman. While this may be true, it is not a valid argument as to why homosexual people should not be given the right to legally marry, and be given the same rights as a heterosexual couple. This nation was founded on the basic and deep concept of SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, and therefore we cannot let the way one religion's views of marriage define how our laws are written.
There was a time in this nation's history when people of color were not allowed to own property or to marry, simply because it was "traditional values" at the time. There was a time when in this nation's history when women were not allowed to vote, again in the name of "traditional values". Now, we are at a time in our nation's history where homosexual people are being discriminated against in the same manner, still under the blanket of "traditional values".
In retrospect, we realize that those who suffered this kind of discrimination in the past did so unjustly. We now have the unique opportunity to show future generations that we know that all people are created equally, and all people in this nation should be afforded the same rights, regardless of sex, race, religion or sexuality.

Odd concidering there ARE examples of gay marriage in the Bible and other religious books. Your argument is over "Religious" marriage, not LEGAL marriage.
STOP CONFUSSING THE TWO!!!
Atheists marry LEGALLY.
AGNOSTICS marry LEGALLY
Gays are fighting for the same right to marry LEGALLY!
No one is forcing any religion to accept or sanctify gay marriages, although many churches already do.
Marriage is a word which has SEVERAL meanings. The religious-right-wingnuts are forcing their prefered definition of "one man/one woman" but this is erronious because it completely disregards ALL OTHER definitions.

i do not understand anymore. God will manage it. contained in the Genesis, God outline His ' biblical marriage is to procreate and inhabit the earth' and stay with God's regulation and use God- given earth's elements. Then comes men's regulation: it twisted & significantly handicapped God's commandment to be inoperable. imagine of the Israelites dancing & rocking on the foot of Mt Sinai and worshiping a golden calf, even as Moses has been away for decrease than 40 days!! What a group of stiff-necked those which at the on the spot are not properly worth of God's substances and also you realize what befell: this is what this perverse era will end as a lot as. Exodus 25 even as Moses realized that, to the scornful excitement of their foes, Aaron had enable the persons run wild, 26 he stood on the gate of the camp and cried, "Whoever is for the LORD, enable him come to me!" all the Levites then rallied to him, 27 and he advised them, "therefore says the LORD, the God of Israel: placed your sword on your hip, all and dissimilar of you! Now flow up and down the camp, from gate to gate, and slay your own kinsmen, your persons and friends!" 28 The Levites performed the command of Moses, and that day there fell about 3 thousand of the persons.

Your best friend is dating an 8 year old and you are here preaching to us about mocking God? Because let me tell you sister we are born this way. It may take us a while to realize why we have these desires and it may take us a while to come to terms with being different but God made us this way. So please stop preaching hate against us. I think what makes a mockery of god is having the state control and be a party to our marriages. Marriage is supposed to be a covenant with God and the state has no business in that.

I suppose it would be. But can you prove what God intended? The closest thing we've ever had to God,in the flesh -- according to you all -- is Jesus. Please give us Jesus' words on the subject. Start looking . . . It'll take a while to find it. Wake us up when you do. Yawn.
At least gays are living genuine existences . . . not hiding behind some curtain of "Christianity," parroting someone else's words.
I have to hand it to you all though. You've sure gotten rich, preaching hellfire and damnation to everyone else. And preaching sure allows you all to hide from your own moral deficits.
