As long as you're going to regular check ups and stop taking Advil, your baby will be fine. I took Advil before I knew I was pregnant too. I'm 29 weeks and the baby is healthy. Just remember to tell your doctor every little thing that you did and happened to you during your pregnancy. He/she can give you a lot of helpful advices. Since you're paying the doctor, don't be afraid to ask questions.

A little Advil won't cause any harm to your baby. Just stick to the Tylenol from now on and you will be fine! I am former military and actually had Anthrax and Smallpox vaccinations while I was pregnant (didn't know it at the time). Not to mention all the hazmat I worked around. When I found out, I freaked out. The doctor told me not to worry, and now I have a very healthy 3 year old boy. I am telling you this so you won't worry. Your baby will be fine!!! Good luck and God bless!!!

You will be fine. I got in a serious car accident when i was pregnant with my son and they had me on so many heavy prescriptions for pain killers and mild sedatives, it's not even funny. I asked the doctor about that, being that i was pregnant and i know you aren't supposed to take stuff like that (i was extremely concerned). His reply was "People shoot up heroine while they're pregnant and still have normal babies....." (and i'm thinking the whole time, so this guy is saying do whatever drug you want while you're pregnant...dummy). Of course i couldn't bare to take all of these meds knowing that it can't possibly be healthy, so i took the absolute minimium i had to for the first week for the pain until i could walk again.

Also many people take meds, drink, etc. before they even find out they are pregnant. If they are not abusers, their babies are always fine.

Your baby will be fine with only a dose or two of Advil. A lot of women smoke and drink while they are pregnant before they know their are, and their babies are fine. Just from now on take Tylenol. Congratulations!

Advil is not going to effect you baby at all, a friend of mine at a Christmas party got crazy drunk and then later in the week found out she was 2 months prego. Your pregnancy is still very new the Advil will no effect your baby. If you are still concerned ask you doctor for reassurance

My doctor told me you can take advil or tylenol up to 28 weeks. After 28 weeks you can NOT take the advil just the tylenol. You are okay and the baby is okay.

Acetaminophen side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
In rare cases, acetaminophen may cause a severe skin reaction that can be fatal. This could occur even if you have taken acetaminophen in the past and had no reaction. Stop taking this medicine and call your doctor right away if you have skin redness or a rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling. If you have this type of reaction, you should never again take any medicine that contains acetaminophen.
Stop taking acetaminophen and call your doctor at once if you have:
- nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, loss of appetite;
- dark urine, clay-colored stools; or
- jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

You should be fine. I was very distraught cause I found out I was pregnant at 12wks and I had been drinking heavily on some weekends before finding out! My ob told me not to worry-it is continual risky behavior that really puts developing babies at risk- and so far my baby has been developing just fine. All tests have come back normal and the length and weight are just fine.

The only reason you can not take advil during pregnancy is because it thins your blood leaving you at increased risk of bleeding (shedding the blood in your uterine lining) if you did not do any of this you and the baby are fine. My OB let me take advil until I was 3 months.

Shiann is right--a few doses shouldn't have an adverse affect on your baby, and people consume worse things that could do more damage to the baby (smoking, drinking) before they know they're pregnant, and the baby's fine. Just be careful from here on out.
