It is retained earnings. This means the profit ploughed back into business without being distributed among the partners/surplus over dividend payments in case of companies, and the profits over and above drawings in case of propreitorship. In general, this is the money reinvested/re utilised in the business instead of being taken away from business

Its your accumulated earnings you havent distributed to shareholders plus your current net income. That amount gets carried over to the next year and so on.
