Y do men think they r here to control women. I know men hate women in positions of authority. Women r not here to make kids. WE have rights too. And in my state (Ohio) it is ok for a man to beat his woman to death. Ohio doesn't care about women.

Part of the problem is there aren't many real men involved in raising the next generation of "boys"...& it's been that way for a long time.
Women can take part of the blame too - b/c if the young girls would stop swooning over a guy even when treated like crap, it would send the msg. "i'm important, i have worth * and i will not allow you to treat me badly". The 1st step is for women to take control of themselves & rem. ppl can only do to us what we allow 'em to do...

Wow, do you have issues!!
If you really want an answer, the dominance of men toward women is not exclusive to the US (by the way, we have North, Central & South America. Which one is 4 America?). Of the Americas, North America probably has the least dominating men on average, partly to do to laws and Women's groups. Part of the dominance is do to nature, part religion, and part to upbringing. Consider also that the US leads the world in illegitimate births and single parent families. My personal research indicates that women complain that they can't find a man who treats them nice and listens to them, then runs off with the first beer guzzling, tatooed biker that walks by and grabs her ***. You mentioned a woman was beaten to death by her husband. This not so much a matter of male dominance over females as control. Men who need to control women fear them. Beating a woman to death often means he feared he was losing control of her.

The whole world is a Patriarchy---men have the aggressiveness to control, and they have a lifelong desire to act, and control. They will never change. Women are millenia ahead of men, with superior brains, health, emotions, adaptability, and sensibilities (they even have sharper senses), and they can even create (with the help of sperm) human beings.
Women are not slaves, and they can make a good life for themselves if they want to---they cannot permit themselves to be victimized.

Not ALL of the men in the USA or any other place for that matter try to dominate women. Quit generalizing.

Um, I'm sure that even in a backward state like Ohio beating a woman to death is still murder.

Don't get bent out of shape; just breath again.
What has been instilled in most USA men as part misconception of the Bible; "Man being the head" not considering the Bible intent is for believer of Christ if you're not following Christ that insert doesn't apply to you....

In turns it become an excuse. One must take in consideration Christ is head of man therefore as a man follow Christ--- Christ leads him ---his help meat a woman keeps him in line with God and God's Word as she never cease from praying covering him from the domination of the world. A husband is instructed to love his wife as Christ loves the church and to love her he loves his own bodies.

We are here to make children; responsible adults by teaching, instructing, nurturing our sons and daughters in biblical principals and practices. We birth americnas therefore we're responsible for nurturing americans and most men cannot accept our birth right. Its not Ohio doesn't care about women; its women doesn't care about women.

If you see yourself as a strong women right leader not a complainer; frustrated, male blamer; you can organize a small group with women from your family, work, church to support your cause to stop physical, mental, verbal as well as social abuse among women; you can be a voice heard around the world.

Stand up to be seen; speak out to be heard or sit down to be criticized. Good-luck

that is really sad, but it is not just the US - look at the world in general. How many women do you see in positions of authority? How many do you see on the boards or as CEO's of big corporations?

The fact is our society is still a patriarchy, and I have never understood why so many women do not see this and fight against it.
