I didn't move during the Clinton "administration". I outlasted him.

Crawford, Houston, Wyoming, Idaho....
During the fall of 2000, I contemplated a four year hiatus from the states, just to learn about the world, and not have to deal with the then (and still) relative extremism of Bush policy. It's not been as bad as imagined, because the extremism is somewhat warranted, given the combative environment against the US (that was also there during the Clinton years, or did we forget 02/26/93 ????).
I am so glad I didn't make that emotional move, for I wouldn't have a wonderful wife, family, home and lifestyle, and likely would be stewing in bitterness like most vociferous anti-Bushers. I do not like Bush as a president, he just doesn't know how to lead, not his own people, not the American people. What his administration has been able to do is generate the need for thought, activity and financing on the part of terrorism worldwide, to combat our forces abroad. What that tends to do is 'bog down' the apparatus in their own regions, and slows down the planning and execution phases closer to home. How long can that last? As long as the American public supports the decision to undermine and decapitate worldwide sponsors of terrorism. That decision includes supporting our troops, but it also includes a personal sacrifice, like driving your car every OTHER day, or using lots of blankets and wool pajamas, and less heat. Things all Americans did in the 40's to support the war effort, things today's Americans are simply unwilling to do (yes, that means liberals as well as conservatives).
I don't think Americans, including myself who contemplated a move prematurely, should ever abandon their nation for one that more 'resonates' with their thinking. Bush is here for only another 2+ years, at which point we'll need all Americans to voice, to their reps and their governors and mayors and senators and presidential candidates, just where they want this country to go.
At a minimum, we owe America all we can give her, because she bore us, educated us and enlightened us into thinking adults, ALL OF US. To abandon her, by undermining the battle against terrorism, by supporting open borders that liquify the social and cultural fabric of America, by insisting there is no terrorist threat just infrequent terrorist acts by fringe elements, all these things are head-in-the-sand responses to a more dangerous world. It needs to stop, if we are to defend our nation. No, there are no German U-Boats or Japanese Zeros at our shores. The enemy is imbedded within, and will rise to consume our traditions, values, history and future, if we stand pat and let the world dictate what we should do about ourselves. This is an American problem, requiring all Americans to defend their homeland and not placate international forces who really only seek to bring us down a notch or two. We have no true friends, but us. That is the essential state of affairs today, and hopefully a more bipartisan effort in 2009 and beyond will stitch us together and make us the beacon on the hill we are accustomed to being.

I stayed where I am now. Everything was better. Had better jobs, more health care, we even had more money to do things.
When Bush stole the election everything went to hell. The only thing I see that Clinton did wrong was having the problem with Monica. Other wise everything was great.

I lived here.
I also did not spew outright hatred toward the man, either. I did not make a daily practice of bitching and whining and making up crap to discredit him.
Make sense?
Probably Not

It was the liberal celebrities who said they'd move if Bush was elected. We never said we'd move if Al Gore was elected.
