When did Dai Davies make his debut for Wales?

Hi,

When I was a kid, the then Everton goalkeeper Dai Davies lived across the road from me. I was pictured in the paper with him under a headline on the lines of 'You can lick them up Dai'.

I think the occasion of ths was when he made his debut for Wales, but I could be wrong.

Can anyone tell me when he first played for Wales?
