There are several qualifications.
First, if your country has a national trials, you need to qualify by those rules. Usually the top three performers at the trials qualify for the Olympics. Second, you need to be at the Olympic standard marks for the events. I don't know them offhand, but someone listed them earlier. The marks must be beaten in a sanctioned meet, before a certain date.
Now in order to even think of throwing that far, it takes a lot. All four of them need a certain amount of speed and strength that are well beyond the capabilities of most people. It takes lots of strength and power training to even be physically able to throw that far. On top of that, technique is immensely important. Most of the time, being tall helps. It is possible to throw at the world-class level without being tall, but most short people are too discouraged to even try. An aspiring thrower should find a good coach who will train the athlete wisely, both physically and practicing throwing technique. Talent helps, but really it all goes down to hard work.

You need no qualifications but like most sports you really need dedication first step is go along to your nearest athletic club and they will introduce you to the throws coach and off you go do not be put off with the dumb dumb answers you get the throws are highly technical events hence size is not the total factor eg Jan Zlenski in the javelin The throws require speed and strength as the first in the 4 s's of athletics so some good fast twitch muscles are essential

yes it's true anyone can do it and not necessarily only big/fat people but I believe she said to be an Olympic.., you do need some qualifications not just doing it for choice in her backyard.

You have to be the best in the country. Get throwing! If you're serious, ask your coach about aiming for the olympics or go on line and do some research. Good luck.
