I have no idea, but I think an interview with the voice of Patrick said that there are not a lot of seahorses in bikini bottom.

Well, Mr. Krabs is a miser and does anything to save/ make money, right? Do you think he would spend money to buy the ingredients to make Krabby Patties? Of course not, not when he can get it for free. So it shouldn't surprise anyone to know that Krabby patties are made from Mr. Krabs own excrement. Kan't get more Krabby than that.
Sorry, that was pretty gross. I wouldn't put it past Mr. Krabs, but one never knows.
I was going to say "Spongebob's boogers". Like I said, one never nose.

The secret formula was never revealed on the show, this recipe is the one discovered by Sheldon Plankton in Plankton's Army, it was later revealed by Mr. Krabs as a diversion to Plankton. This is not the real recipe:
A pinch of salt
3 Teaspoons of chopped onions
A cup of love
4 heaping pounds of freshly ground plankton (Most Important)
In the same episode Mr. Krabs told Squidward that the formula shown above was not the actual one. Squidward however knew where Mr. Krabs had hidden it, at home, under his mattress. In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Plankton eventually stole it in as part of his evil Plan Z and it was sold at the Chum Bucket, along with free bucket helmets with every purchase.

An all-kelp patty, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, tomato, on a seaweed seed bun. There's a pinch of King Neptune's magic dust in it, too, as seasoning; but the dust is rare, hard-to-get, obviously addictive, and simply doesn't fit in the jingle.
