Unless ur opting for medication,a natural way to try and ease out such irritations is to wash ur eyes frequenty(eyes shut,of course!)with cold water..after which u could gently dab dry.And twice daily, soak cotton wool in rather warm water, that should not scald ur skin or feel uncomfy, and gently wipe ur eyes, especially along the lashes.Do this for over a week and it should be fine within a week, however,if ur eye-itch persists,do go to an opthalmologist right away.

Do not gamble with your eyes by guessing what you have.
If you don't want to be blind, see an eye doctor (opthalmologist).
One man went to 5 doctors on Kauai over a period of a month. They gave him drops. Finally he went to Dr. W. Lee on Oahu who found a small piece of metal stuck in his eye and removed it.
