Is the movie High School Musical this generation's "Grease"? The 70's had Grease, the 80's had Fame, what do you think?

In a way yes, but I don't think that it'd be as iconic as Grease. However, time will tell.

Yeah, I agree.
Although it's targetted more to teens whereas "Grease" & "Fame" had their own targetted demographics, the plotlines are there.
However, I can't really compare those 2 to HSM because to me, it (HSM) doesn't hold a candle to them*sorry*
I felt "Grease" & "Fame" had more memorable music and was an enjoyable watch.
HSM was just plain clean, family viewing, Disney fare.
I've to admit I was frustrated whenever Troy would lean in to kiss Gabriella, someone would always interrupt, lol=P

I haven't seen it but you can't compare a movie like that with a classic like Grease. Grease has no comparison.

you could say that....the movie has been a topseller, the album has been a topseller...it's insane.

i actually haven't watched it all yet. my little sibs watch it all the time, but i haven't gotten around to watching the whole thing...i think it looks kind of stupid...
