hm well on acoustic something simple and easy would be "Hurt" By Johnny Cash, for electric- "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by the Clash...it's just the D and G chords! Also try "We Are Going To Be Friends" by the White Stripes...good song..easy to play!

"Smoke On The Water" by Deep Purple definitely is an easy one for beginners. I myself tried the "Master Of Puppets" intro to train my speed. And also, i think it's a good warm up.
