Today will mark the second time in two weeks that the New York Yankees have played a day game, a night game, and a day game in one 27-hour span; one set against the Red Sox and one against the Tigers.

I was just curious as to how many other times a single team has played two day-night-day "triple-headers" within the same two-week span in recent history. Could anyone dig up those numbers for me?

In case anyone misunderstood the question, I didn't mean three games in 72 hours, I meant three games in 27 hours.

Bo-Hoo!
3 games in 72 hrs.

the white sox had to play 24 games without a day off.

In the same time, the Tigers had 2 days off. the Twins had 3 days off. Boston had 2 days off. and the Yankees had 2 days off.

Boo-Hoo.

Who knows? But do you remember when the Yanks and the Pets, I mean Mets played a split-stadium day-night double header?

It's not that rare of an occurrence so don't get your hopes up. Those stats that they talk about on tv are crap. They could make up those kind of numbers about anyone.
