It's weird the Bible foretold it.Romans 1:26-28 says:For this cause GOD GAVE THEM UP unto vile affections:for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. And like wise also the men leaving the natural use of the women burned in their lust one toward another: men with men working that which is unseemly and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge. GOD GAVE THEM OVER TO A REPROBATE MIND to do those things which are not convenient.
In simpler terms God allowed their hearts to be hardened toward their sins. This is one of the only sins God deals out that response to. God actually allows them to think what they are doing is fine. There are very few sins in the Bible God deals out that punishment to. So you see the Bible foretold all of the answers and responses I will get from this question. God said you would say It is not wrong. And you can't argue that u won't.

BUT IM SURE MANY WILL TRY AND ARGUE THE BIBLE ISN'T ACCURATE EITHER WAY YOU STILL ARE SAYING WHAT IT SAID YOU WOULD. I MEAN UNLESS ONE OF YOU WANTS TO SAY WHAT U ARE DOING IS WRONG SIMPLY JUST TO PROVE ME WRONG. I KNOW I WILL STILL GET ANSWERS THAT IGNORE THAT I SAID THEY WOULD SAY THAT. SO GO AHEAD SAY "IT IS NOT WRONG" SO WHETHER U BELIEVE THE BIBLE RIGHT OR WRONG U ARE STILL SAYING WHAT IT SAID U WOULD BY SAYING IT IS NOT WRONG.
FOR ALL WHO GOT IT THE FIRST TIME I APOLIGIZE BUT SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT.

I do not believe the same why that you do. So every thing you just wrote does not mean any thing to me. If something is wrong why would "god" let you think it was right so you could keep on doing what was wrong? That seems cruel and unusual. Not a "god" I'd want to follow. You should wake up look at the world around you. Study the world's history. Study the world's future. Then tell me if you still believe in your "god". The bible is a book written by men. Anyone could have wrote a book and said "god told me to write this so you must do what it says or burn in hell for eternity". If "god" is love, and loves unconditionally why would he send what he loves to a place like hell no matter what kind of life they led. That does not sound unconditional to me. In fact that is extremely conditional.

Let's put this into context BEFORE going any further.
The story that Paul is refering to in Romans is of Sodom and Ghamorah. It's ASSUMED these cities were destroyed because of homosexual behavior, but a closer look and ANYONE WITH A BRAIN will see they were destroyed because the people were inhospitable, untrusting of strangers, wanted to do physical harm to strangers...etc.
This story goes on to say something along the lines of (and I'm not quoting verbatum here so please excuse) "Men left their wives to be with men."
Well think about this.
God's pissed off because these are HETEROSEXUAL Men behaving in a homosexual maner. These weren't created homosexuals. These men were going against their nature.
God was really angry that these men mocked how they were created in doing this.
But, later on there are examples of real, loving homosexual marriages. Such passages are found not only in the Bible, but also in other books which were excluded from the canon, such as the Book Of Ruth.
So don't even start a religious argument over gay marriage with me unless you're ready to actually LEARN SOMETHING FOR A CHANGE!

What does the bible say about people who preach hatred, bigotry, discrimination and therefore violence against LGBT people, and then have the gall to call themselves a 'christian?'
If you are taking your life plan directly from the bible, why are you paying attention to only certain parts and ignoring others? Like the "judge not" part? And the shellfish, mixed clothing, who gets stoned in the town square parts?
I think you should own up to being a hypocrite before you post any more questions in the LGBT area. At least you will be truthful for a change.
WWJD?

Wow. Now that's a God I want to believe in. Lets see if I get this straight (no pun intended) So God said being gay is a sin. But he then he decided that he would let gay people think in their hearts that being gay was a good thing even though it's really a bad thing...is that it?
Why would God want to do that? Does God enjoy playing head games with people? Is God that spiteful?
I think you need to have that passage reinterpreted.

I don't believe you are keeping that scripture in the context which God intended. Please use a quote from Jesus, himself, if you want to condemn gays, specifically. Hint: You can't find one!
I used that same verse to rebuke my ex-husband's physical/verbal abuse and adultery, and to support my decision to divorce him: "God turned them over to the desires of their hearts (another translation)." It's saying that even God exercised "tough love." The ex pretended to be a religious follower (Christian). I was very young then; but mostly, I had been stifled and oppressed by religious teachings that ended up leading me to hurtful situations.
Religious abuse is very dangerous, but it is great when you can turn their own Bible against the abusers. If "sin is sin," as Christians say, then why would God single out gays? Why don't I hear you guys ranting about God's condemnation of child abusers, instead? I wish you would put your efforts to better use than oppressing women and gays, and taking money from the weak and impressionable.
My final inclination: You are SUCH A CLOSET HOMOSEXUAL!
P.S. "Everybody still loves Chris": You're awesome. I admire your insight, intellect and wisdom. You made my day (and I'm a straight, happily-remarried female and mother of three progressive and compassionate humans)

the reason god gave those people referred to in that scripture up to vile afflictions and a reprobate mind was because they had worshiped a god other than him. you can not take scripture out of context to make it say only what you want it to say, Well you can but it is not the truth and that will make you guilty of altering his holy word and that my friend is an unforgivable abomination. Shocking isn't it that you who came here to show us what an abomination we are have been proven to be the true abomination. Now go and begone from me you foul abominable troll.
Ps Chris you are Great theologian. Have you thought about entering the seminary.

the first person who posted an answer actually wrote what I had as a topic before on the whole subject..everybody loves chris is right.. besides if you take that literally.. then you'd burn sacrifices for god and smite your neighbors if they complained about the smell.. and we wouldn't be wearing cotton. there's also some other things that are against the bible that you see today..
