I work for a large multinational oilfield service company and I regularly steal tools, stationary and cleaning materials. I stole the computer I'm typing this on. I even fiddle my timesheets in a mass clocking-in scam with several other people.

I feel bad about this - although I feel I may just be worried about getting caught. Is it wrong? the wages are poor and my boss is a d***. I'm so conflicted. I'm leaving soon anyway, should I go for one last big job? I really feel the need to own a large curved desk and a "managers" chair...

Read what "cool dude" wrote, it is extremely ironic:
"stealing is illeagle
so of corse its wrong retard"

He can't find the "shift" key on his keyboard, he can't spell ILLEGAL, or COARSE and then he calls YOU a retard! How f*cking stupid can he be?

As for the question:
Normally I would be on the side of the law, but in this case I say f*ck it - if you have gotten that and they were too stupid to notice they deserve to have their stuff stolen!

The fact that you use the word "steal" in your main header, and that you "feel bad" about it should answer your question for you. Of COURSE it's wrong to steal.

Now, of course it's one thing to take pens or stationery. They buy those in such bulk they're but pennies apiece, and no one would notice their absence anyway. In fact, most of the time companies buy those with marketing in mind, meaning they want them to be distributed freely in order to get their name/image out.

But a large curved desk!? Come on, man. That kind of **** will land you in jail, and you won't even be able to fit it on eBay. Let your conscience be your guide.

Now ... if you do happen to get a great deal on a laptop and felt like e-mailing me ... ;)

Yes it is WRONG. Just because you feel you aren't getting paid well enough does not justify stealing. Nothing justifies stealing. I suggest you get some motivation and climb the corporate ladder if you wish you "own a large curved desk" etc.

Is it wrong for me to steal from you? I think your an idiot! Yes it is wrong.

If the wages are poor and your boss is a dick the quit and get a new job, oh but make sure you tell them that you stole from your previous employer because the wages we low and the boss was a dick, that way you can get the really high wages and the really sweet bosses........................

Have fear from God, live as if you stand before him for one day you will have to face the sins that you commit. Do you think it is worth it to have that type of nonsense on your hands?

From another point of view, if you owned a company and helped by employing others to feed their families. Would you really want your employees stealing from you? Its like biting the hand that feeds you.

Its good that you still have a conscience, try returning the items if you can as its worthless to talk about a problem without trying to find a solution. That solution is up to you to do what is right. If not from a moral or even principaled point of view, to at least earn back your own self-respect.

Depends on the size of the company. Corporation: no. They swindle us as a rule in most cases, with out providing an adequate service to justify the money they take. Society is about value-for-value and while corps. do provide an amazing value, it is hardly worth the accompanying dehumanization. Therefore "stealing" from them is just reallocating the value which they chose not to provide you. I only recommend this on a personal basis, I do not recommend laws being enacted to forward this concept

I say no just because it's not right .. just cuzz your boss is a weenie ,it's not hurting him it hurt the owners profit and your coworkers they can't give raises when they are constantly replacing the things you steel and i'm sure you are not the only one that does it so that is a huge loss for them...good luck w/ making the right choice

Yes, it is wrong. The reason your wages are so low is because the company cannot make any money because you are stealing from them. You are the real ****.

If you are caught, you are facing theft charges and a jail term. I wouldn't want someone like you working for me. Stealing is stealing. It is never justifiable. You are a thief.

Of course it is wrong to steal. Did you know that most thiefs are from employees. I watch it go on here to from a coworker.
