Your building to much into this.
The Saudis fly around like you walk from kitchen to living room in your house.
----------------------------------
Did you ever hear the Milk story.
One of the members of the House of Saud decided she liked the milk from a particular farm in Switzerland. So every day a 737 flew to Switzerland and picked up a gallon of milk.
It gets better. At first the plane landed in Zurich. and the farmer met them with a jug of milk. But the Saudis had a small airport enlarged so the 737 could land closer to the farm.

melt?
why do you want to lie to the good people on yahoo answers?
Do you believe your own lie?
The plane to which (melt) refers was an aircraft chartered by the Saudi government in the days after the terrorist attacks. The individuals were two dozen members of Osama bin Laden's extended family who had been living in the United States. Saying they were afraid that family members might suffer retribution in the U.S., the Saudis asked for American assistance in getting them out of the country. With the help of the FBI, the Saudis and the bin Laden family chartered an aircraft to pick up family members in Los Angeles, Orlando, and Washington, D.C. The bin Laden plane then flew the relatives to Boston, where — one week after the attacks — the group left Logan Airport bound for Jeddah. In spite of no other international flights being allowed!
PLEASE DONT COME HERE LYING AGAIN

The program on CNN the other night about Bin Laden mentioned that his family publicly severed ties to him, but were also keeping the back-door channels of communication open.
I really think Bush is the most horrible president we ever had, but I can't really judge the decision to evacuate the family, since I'm not privy to the classified information surrounding this decision. I hope it all comes out in the open, because it looks really nasty.

Yes, they were allowed to leave thirteen days later when flights were cleared for everyone. The US had no reason to hold them. According the government the family signed a document disowning Osama 6 or 7 years prior to the events of September 11th. There are 600 members of the Bin Ladin family, the majority have never even met Osama. With these facts in mind, no I don't think it's a big deal.

I absolutely agree, and you should, too.
Consider the mindset of the American people immediately following 9/11.
Bin Laden's family most probably would have been killed by a mob or at least by an outraged individual.
And, that, my friend, would have made us no better than the terrorists.

It was part of the deal they had with Osama. We blame you for the terror attack that we commit against our own people. But Osama was worried about his family here in the states, so the government agreed to fly them to safety. Even though all flights were grounded, somehow they were flown out first class. hmmmm.

of course they were questioned. but why leave them in a hostile situation for something THEY didn't do? if your father committed a horrible act of terrorism to which you had no connection, wouldn't you be afraid for your life? people would judge, condemn and attack YOU merely because of the family relation. yes, osama is a piece of sh*t that deserves what is coming to him, but i have nothing against his family if they truly didn't know what was going to happen and were not connected in any way.

This is a question many Americans will feel ashamed to answer becuase we decided to turn a bind-eye based on our ignorance....that Bush's administration let them get away and we as Americans never said a word about it.
