Personally only some of their first songs were OK, but their new song sucks and it obviously has been wraped by mainstream and pop, definately I dont think tey r goth.
Kudos for the guy that left the band cuz they were becomin mainstram

I never thought they were in the first place, although their first hit did have a goth vibe to it, and they do try and look the part. I know several goths, and none of them listen to Evanescence, and they're offended when people refer to them as goth. They're way to pop-rock to be goth.

gothic isnt a track variety O.o yet yeah in the journey that your speaking GOTH, evanescence isnt fairly... its extra in basic terms melodramatic rock (neither solid nor undesirable). they're actually somewhat mainstream, in case you look at different bands track you will locate that evanescence might properly be somewhat joyful.

I agree with Daveness also. Its a style thing not a genre. I like their new song. I liked some other songs off their first album better, but I haven't had a chance to hear this whole album yet. I like them so I'm kind of excited to hear it.

My thought was that "Goth" or "Gothic" was more of a style thing, than a music thing. I could be wrong though.
