I think that's not even a graphics CARD, but just a built-in graphics chipset on the motherboard, which can't do much in the way of 3D gaming.

A real video card is what you need.

Other than that, try reducing the detail in your game- turn off shadows, set textures to medium or low quality, lower the resolution to minimum (so instead of 1280x1024 play at 800x600)

But the biggest improvement will come with a real graphics card (probably AGP or PCI) After that, you might get a boost by adding more RAM, especially if you've got less than 512mb.

Look at something like an Nvidia 7900GS or ATI X1800 if you can...But even an older card like a GeForce FX 5500 would be a big improvement. In most cases, graphics chips on motherboards are good enough to display spreadheets and photos, and that's about it.

Well, without upgrading your hardware, sadly there's not alot you can do without sacrificing quality.

You can try lowering the resolution in game, as well as other graphics hungry options that the game might default to. Such as, high quality textures, certain affects like smoke quality, etc. All these can have a huge impact on frame rates.

The least you can do is make sure all of your drivers are up to date, that might help a bit. However, to get faster frame rates, you need to a better video card and you can upgrade. Most motherboards have jumpers that you can move to disable certain cards, ie on-board video. Look in your motherboard manual and that should go into more detail about that.

Some options for you:
Lower settings in-game... reduce resolution... defrag hard drive... load Windows into ram... update all drivers... close all non-essential programs... remove all spyware/adware and check for viruses...
These are just a few ideas off the top of my head.
