Especially when someone picks your answer, over someone else who is higher ranked than yourself?
Not the feeling of vanity coz you're smarter, but a good feeling that maybe you made a real difference to someone in need of an answer to their question thats been bothering them.
Sometimes, we're overwhelmed by our own concerns and obligatons, we can't think of the right solution. Even if is right under our nose. Someitmes, we just don't have the experience or wisdom to see something in a different perspective. There is the hope that there is someone out there who may have the answer to our question, and for a minute or two, they may take us seriously and give us a hella good answer.
It may just make their day, that feeling of relief and being able to go on with their lives - and sometimes, the answer is just so funny that it tops off the day on a good note, your troubles aren't as bad as you might of thought.
2pts... oh yeah,..... ha ha . . . ha . . . . . uh - huh .

it feels good When I Know You Get 10 Points When I Give A Well Thought Out Answer. I Get A Little up Set When I see Some Get 10 When They Put Just a word Or Two And That Person Gives Them 10 Points. It should Not Matter What Level Someone On. For People To reward 10 points to Just because Some One Higher Than some One Else It Might mean They Answer A allot Of Questions There Might be Someone Higher Up That Might Have A few Best Answer But They Answer allot of Questions And Vote On Allot Of Questions

When I get a best answer selected by either the asker or a significant number of voters, I hope that I get it because I had the best analysis of the answer, regardless of ranking. I personally don't put any credence in the ranking when I rate best answers, and certainly not when voting (as the names are blocked out). I hope that a best answer selected for a question is indeed the most appropriate answer for that given question.
I guess that my personal feelings are that it's nice to see an answer of mine selected, but I don't get overly emotional about it as I try to give my best answer on most questions to begin with. Even if an answer that I wrote is not selected, I hope that it has been useful. Also, if I don't get picked but am mentioned as having a good answer by the asker, I will be appreciative nonetheless and post a comment thanking the asker for the positive response.

Answers should fit the question, whether serious or whimsical. When I get a best answer by asker I'm glad to know that my answer came in handy one way or the other. When I get a best answer by voters that's good too because other people looked at my answer and said, " ooh....ahhhh.....wow.....coool...". All in all they are all feathers in my cap. Another notch on my gun belt. Don't get me wrong. I do like the extra points. It's kind of like getting paid for having fun.

I helped a lot of people in my life, not only on yahoo answers, and I can tell you that it really does feel great to be able to help someone and be there for them when they really need someone. But I think the feeling is twice as great when the person you helped thanks you or will help you in the future.

I just love getting that email that says it! Waiting to see what answer got picked! It's funny though, the ones you don't really think could be the best answer, sometimes are though!

I get it, you've got 10 pts so now you are feeling expansive...
I'm glad I've at last found someone who takes this thing a bit more seriously than I do.

I'm a newbie - so I really don't know how I feel. I am sure it is wonderful to feel like you helped, or made someone laugh with a goofy answer.

I would basically say that I am just glad that I could be of help to someone and have us share a similar opinion.

If I've actually helped someone in their lives, then it feels wonderful.
When I get an answer chosen because it was silly, then I just feel silly, but good.

All it does for me is assure me that someone else shares the same opinion on a subject as I do.
