Just look up 80s movies. That's the best way to see some of the best examples of 80s style.
Turn on the TV to 80s sitcoms. Sometimes re-run channels like TV-Land show 80s shows.
The most extreme styles were usually on music videos but I don't know where you could watch old MTV.

Try high school or college yearbooks. Watch some reruns of shows like Saved by the Bell (this was late 80's-early 90's) or search for pictures of Madonna or people who were fashion influences at the time.

Check out the movie "Valley Girl" with Nicolas Cage. It is a perfect time capsule of 80's fashion, music and slogans.

Lots of bangle bracelets, BIG hair, leggings under mini skirts, shirts that fall off one shoulder, some minis were fitted at the top and the bottems ruffled out, bold and even neon colors, lacy scarfs worn around your hair like a head band, BIG hoop earrings, skin tight jeans.....tight all the way down the legs
