Its not a SIGN of pregnancy because you can get that from a number of things. Like a rotten tooth. Or an infection. Or even sometimes a cold. But it does happen if you get pregnant in some instances. But it is by no means something you should think determines you being pregnant.

yeah I can say that I had that taste at times.. I hated it!! Plus I was always kinda on the sick side with morning sickness... :( 5 months.. You sound like it might be too early to take a test?? So try in about a week. But I wouldn't say it would confirm if you were or not. But it could be a sign of a hormone change. Good luck either way.:)

I got that strange metallic taste in my mouth at least once a day, especially during my first trimester. It was weird cause it would come and go whenever I drank plain water or ate anything dairy. Also, during my sister's pregnancies- she had that metallic taste the WHOLE time and would always complain and spit in trash cans and a jar that she kept beside her bed. (I thought she was crazy until I experienced that taste for myself when I got pregnant-thank goodness it did not last! Plus, I don't think that taste comes from the prenatals cause my sis never took her vitamins cause they were so big and she is not good at swallowing pills.

Dysgeusia--metallic taste in mouth--is a complaint of some pregnant women. Generally it is experienced after the woman starts taking prenatal vitamins.

I never had that.
The very first sign in each of my 4 pregnancies was tender breasts.
Best wishes...
