First thing is make sure you are bonded and insured. Never go into business without that. If you hire people to work for you they could steal or break something and you want to have yourself covered. You say you have great communication skills then do what your best at..Communicate to everyone about your new cleaning business. A good place to get into is doctors offices.
Do your research. Online is a great place to start and try getting a few books on business and dive in. Good Luck

I have some chemical free products that will go great with your business that you want to start. I have had people use these products and tell the peoples house or business that they are cleaning and they want the products for themselves which is what we do as a home based business. This company is a great thing to do on the side and will work well with your cleaning. It is a great sell to clean peoples homes who have young children or just to be safe in general. We have known people that have taken their chemical cleaning products back to Walmart or where ever they bought them from and said that they cause cancer and they gave them their money back. Just a F.Y.I.
Let me know,
Teresa

Read this book : Faking it in America by Barry Minkow
The guy made a fradulent cleaning company at the age of 18 from scratch to a 2 million dollar public company in a few years.
Learn from the pitfalls and backdoors from the best.

Make some small flyers. You can put 3 or 4 on one piece of paper and cut it. Put them around at people's front doors. (The mailbox is illegal.) You may have to put an awful lot of flyers out, but if you keep it up, you'll get all the business you can handle.
Of course a real person answering your phone is a real plus.

i find that if you put your ad in local newspaper in the area you want to do your business ( the best is one people get for free) and open 1800 line for your business- you will get a lot of response, because you will look very professional compare to other cleaning services and they will call you for free . never give estimate over the phone,go personally and get the business, ask for neighbors and give discounts, gift certificates and talk with contractors- they need somebody to clean after they done.
