I'm 18 and I start college in a couple of days. I should be excited, but I'm not because I'm pregnant. I'm thinking about having an abortion, but I'm terrified to walk into an abortion clinic. Has anybody ever gone through this or something similiar?

Planned parenthood is always a great place to start. They'll be able to make appropriate...and safe...referrals.

Take a friend with you. Someone you really trust. You'll have to have someone drive you home anyway, and it's always easier to walk in to any situation with someone standing next to you.

Whatever you decide, don't wait to long. If you decide to have the baby, get prenatal care. If you decide to have the abortion, the sooner the better from a medical standpoint. But whatever you do, make sure it's what you want.

I have been through that exact same situation. I'm not going to say you shouldn't be scared, because I was no matter what anyone told me. I was 18, just graduated, lived in a very bad neighborhood in a one bedroom trailer, the "father" didn't want to have the baby and told me he wouldn't be there for it.... For me, an abortion was the only solution because I wasn't about to raise a baby in that kind of life. Don't do it for or because of anyone else...do it for you... And don't be afraid of the "clinic" Especially if you have a planned parent hood clinic nearby. They would be the best choice. They are pro-choice and very supportive no matter what. They also are very good at protecting your privacy and will usually give you an alternate entrace into the building so that people on the street can't harass you for going in...besides, they usually don't protest you going into the planned parenthood buildings because they can't tell whether you are going in for birthcontroll pills or an abortion...so walk with confindence with whatever decision you make.

Never been through this. But, I say weight all your options before you get an abortion. I wouldn't suggest that route to anyone. You can still go to school and have a kid. Why not be excited about both? College is a privilege and, a baby is a blessing.

I went through this with a g/f and when we at to the clinic she changed her mind (luckily) , now that I look back. We were so ready for the abortion until we found out what happens to the baby. We were wed just after the birth of the baby and he grew up to be a very successful person.

sweety I know you are scared but you can do it and don't leave it you have the whole rest of your life a head of you. you would not be doing your self or it any favours by ruining your life have kids too young. Get a trusted friend to go with you (maybe even your mom you might be suprise) I went though this with my oldest daughter and accepted and agreed with her dicestion to abort Good luck and be strong
