I think it is. My grandma had 9 kids, my mom had 4 before making dad get snipped, and I had 4 before getting tied. Our family is huge! But everybody is different. All you can do is try, right?

some fertility issues are genetic, others are caused by other factors. like getting a std and not getting it treated. or having an infection and not knowing and it spreads and causes scare tissue in ur fallopian tubes or pelvic inflammatory syndrome which will block the egg bein able to move to the uterus to implant if fertilize, which can cause a tubal pregnancy. which would have to be terminated. stress and street drugs can cause women to become infertile. trauma to ur reproductive organs can cause infertility. there are several different factors that can effect fertility. just keep urself healthy and try to get pregnant. but becoming pregnant occurs at the right, perfect time. becoming pregnant can not be set or pushed to happen. all the factors have to be perfectly in order for it to occur.

Not necessarily. My mother gave birth to 10 children (a set of twins were born prematurely and died). She also had several miscarriages. She started in her early 20's, but had me at age 38. I started trying at age 34. It took me 8 months to conceive on fertility meds. I am in my 4th month ttc another child (2nd month w/fertility meds). My husband has two other children in addition to our daughter, so there is no problem with him. We also had his sperm analyzed just to make sure. My siblings all have children, but they all started earlier. The older you get, the less fertile you become.

I think its luck of the draw. My mom had me with no problems. They tried for 5 years to have another child but couldn't b/c my dad had a low count but there was nothing wrong with my mom. Then wham back to back pregnancies. I on the other had to tried for 4 years to get pregnant with my son and 2 years this go round and there is nothing wrong with me or my husband that the doctors can find.

Not necessarily...from what I have seen, just about everything can skip a generation. Prime example, my grandmother had problems with fertility, my mother didn't, but my sister and I do & my fiances' grandmother has some complications, his mother didn't. Could be just a coincidence....

I don't know if that's true...My mother had only me. She had a hard time conceiving after that. Back then they didn't have all the modern technology or medication we have today. I have never had a problem getting pregnant...I'm expecting my fourth!

except your mom had PCOS, her fertility would have not something to do with you. You get an concept of fertility along with your first cousins (mom facet) and your sister. thinking your sisters are fertile, your danger is really good.

Some say it is genetic, but no one in my family has ever had problems....only me. Even my doctor said that PCOS is considered genetic & she can't believe that no one in my family has had problems conceiving.

not necessarially. of course, some fertility problems are genetic but some are not. so even if your mom had no problem you can.
