The Benz will last longer in the long run (with proper maintenance) but the Nissan will probably be easier on your pocket in the short run. If you plan to keep the car long term, go with the Benz. I have a friend who has a 2001 Altima and it is just about junk now.

you are like comparing a family car and an executive car. the class is way different. Mercedes last longer but parts and maintenance is more expensive, Nissan, in the other hand has better gas mileage and more affordable. compare Nissan altima with the c-class or the e-class with another vehicle. hope this helps...

Nissan maintenance is cheaper than Mercedes. If you have the bucks, go for the Benz.

I would go for the E-class its a very smooth car and very luxurious. Also when compared the other cars in Mercedes line up the E-class has the least problems.

get the BENZ. Better made and it will last a heck of a lot longer.
I own two of them now and working on a 3rd.
