Every child is different. I had a baby boy 2 years ago and he wasn't active at all. I actually had to go to the hospital cause he never moved and I thought he was dead! Now.........I just had a girl 2 months ago and she was VERY active.......she was moving all day and all night.......my husband would even push me away cause he would feel her kicking him! Now my son is pretty active but I think all kids his age are.......and my daughter at 2 months is pretty calm, she sleeps through the night and she only cries when she wants to eat or sometimes she just wants to be held or cuddled, my son was the same as her as a baby...........so don't try to gage your child by how he or she acts in the womb!

My son wasn't very active in the womb but he was always a happy baby and he started to walk at 10 months and he is very smart........he talks like he is 4 not 2 and he is even learning multiplication tables

Generally this can be a predictor, but not always - I hardly moved at all during my months in the womb (so my Mum tells me) BUT when I did enter the world - two weeks late - I was a little monster, so my dad says, I cried all night and slept all day and was walking at an early age, getting into EVERYTHING, though I prefered the pram until I was 4, and was very much a TomBoy as a youngster - climbing trees, playing football etc, I was a total mixture.

So... basically, you never can tell.

My son was very active in the womb and now at 4 weeks(born 7/31/06) he is active. He tries to do things very soon like hold his head up and stand on his legs. So the answer is yes.

Out of three pregnancies:-two were faster movers(the girls),and the eldest,my son was a slow mover. That was how I came to the conclusion my last pregnancy was a girl, and the heart rate ! I dont think womb activity is a true indicator of their later activity. He`s an adrenalin junkie and the most active physically now.

I'm not sure if that's true with all babies, but with mine it was. He moved allllll night long & *still* doesn't sleep & moves a lot LOL He was very active in utero & continues to be now. My friend was the opposite, her baby barely budged in her belly & when he did it was very slow & soft pushing (my son was frantic & hard kicks & hits). After he was born he continued to be a very gentle calm baby :)

i don't think that is a medical explanation for babies being active.
they could be active in the womb due to being uncomfortable or something that mom ate that baby is not happy with , like spiciness or sweet things. it depends alot of the position that the mom is in as well. sometimes the baby moves more when mom is sitting still or lying down. baby likes mom to be walking or in a upright position as there is more space for baby to move around in.

my first baby was very active before he was born and after his birth he was difficult because he would never sleep and learned 2 walk at 8months.
my second baby only managed a few kicks a day and is very placid and settled in2 a sleep routine nearly straight away, he is now 8months and is only just starting 2 crawl so yes, foetal movements say alot about wot the child will be like i think.

For me yes. My first never stopped moving and still keeps going. My second didn't move to much and now is a very calm relaxed child. My third moved like he was playing soccer then the next he would chill for a long time and now at 8 years old he is full of energy one minute and totally exhausted the next.

I really don't think one has to do with the other.... My 2nd pregnancy wasn't very active & I have a 12 year old daughter who can watch TV standing on her head!!! Very active! I am in my 3rd pregnancy & he is VERY active - has been since 16 weeks! So I will let you know how the little booger turns out in about 2 weeks (hopefully)!
