I think it is adequately done.
Red (Republican): represents anger, justice, and power
Blue (Democrat): represents serenity, peace, courage
Green (Independant/Moderate): represents intelligence

Anyone else agree?

NOTE: Green doesn't mean the Green Party, it means an independant (at least it does on CNN)

Network news...

With the advent of color TV, news programs would put up a white U.S. map on Presidential Election night. As each state was "won" by a particular candidate, the state turned blue or red.

Because the color red still had communist connotations, the networks alternated the color designations every election year so that there would be no hint of bias. It just so happens that the red was assigned to the Republicans during the last election.

It will be interesting to see if the networks continue with the alternating color policy in 2008. We have become a society where politics must be distilled down to bumper stickers and sound bytes...I wonder if people will be able to wrap their minds around blue republicans and red democrats.

Interesting question. I dont recall it always being Red for Republicans and Blue for Democrats. I think its been more since 2000 when the country started becoming more evenly divided along North/South borders.

I don't see greens as moderates. I think they can go either way, but probably leaning on liberal. The only difference between a Green and a Liberal is that Green have a specific political agenda target, enviromental issues.

Pure fiction, but you can do that if you wish.

It was a TV gimmick to show so dummies can understand it, which states were going which way the presidential elections are going. Any great significance is your own invention.

I like your interpretation. I don't know how they came up with the red/blue state designation. I would be delighted to know.
