Not usually, but I know that most everyone is racist to an extent, they just don't have the balls to admit it. I probably will pick your answer to my question as best. I asked it because I know that I see alot of hair care for black people that are conditioners, I imagined that dry hair is a problem.
Thanks

That term is missused.
An example of a racist is someone like Adolf Hitler who believed his race was GENETICALLY superior to ALL other races.

Although there are people still like that around (Idaho skinheads come to mind) - Most people are actually PREJUDICED.

PREJUDICE is a natural learned reaction to situations.
if you take a baby and show him a dog and at the same time frighten the baby with a loud bang. That baby will develop a fear reaction to dogs (this has been done.)
That is why you react that way to rats or roaches or snakes - or whatever your phobia.

ALL people are prejudiced to certain degrees.

AND yes, many Black and other minorities ARE prejudiced against white people. They PREJUDGE based on previous experience - some of which may be CORRECT!

Many prejudices are based on TRUE stereotypes that we see everyday in society.

It is our job as fairminded civilized people to take this learned protective GOOD response and harness it in a rational way.

Example: "This guy is chinese, I'd better not mess with him because they all know kung fu" - Inaccurate.

OR

"I'm in a run down part of town with some shady characters looking at my new gold chains - I'd better leave" GOOD ACCURATE and TRUE.

I like Figato's response--prejudiced is the correct word. (I wouldn't have known this though.) To answer your question--yes, I am. I think most people are, and the ones who vehemently deny it are probably the most prejudiced of us all.
