It's a trick. If you won, why would you have to send any money?

It is a hoax. Those types of email have been circulating for several years now. Here are some questions you should ask yourself. Did I enter any Australian Lottery? How can I win if I didn't enter? Why is a Nigerian bank trying to give me money from an Australian lottery?

It's a scam. Nigeria is known for these types of scams. As an example, US banks can't open any accounts with Nigeria addresses - that might give you an idea of how commonplace the Nigeria scams are.

Avoid those kind of things like they were frauds. They are.

They will ask for your bank acct # or SS #. They want to steal your identity and drain you of all your $$$.
