The way you type without looking at a keyboard is by learning where all the letters and numbers are. You can take classes at school and they really help allot. It's allot easier to type after you learn to do it without looking at the keyboard.

Do they even offer typing classes anymore? If so, take one, it not only teaches you to type without looking but you get more accurate. I learned to type on an old manual typewriter. You probably don't know what one of those looks like, but you had to really press hard on the keys to get the letter to strike the ink ribbon and transfer the image to the paper. As a result, I can type fast, but I also type real hard and can beat a standard keyboard up pretty good.

Hi. Copy a keyboard layout to paper, put the paper under or over your monitor but in sight, and practice typing the keys while looking only at the paper and monitor. Works for some.

practice. I still look at the keyboard sometimes. But practice typing letters, emails, etc. That's how I learned.

Haha. There's no real tip, or anything. I never took any "classes" and whatnot. I just learned on my own. I mean, I didn't even notice when I got to the point where I type so fast and so well that I do not need to look at the screen.
I think i've been typing like this ever since I was 13. That's when I got AIM and was typing all day. It really helped me--perhaps it will help you, too.

Good luck.

well, you got to do proper fingering with that. there are free typing lessons on the internet. learn it good. apply it good. master the keyboard. of course. when you type you have to look at it but be sure you have the right fingers.

it may take years till you achieve what you want. but you'll notice that your speed increases. remember: CONSTANT CORRECT PRACTICE MAKES IT PERFECT.

Practice. Or take a typing class.

You get better at it after a while.
