This is a tough question for me.
My top five tend to fall this way:
1. Halloween
2. Night of the Living Dead
3. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
4. Return of the Living Dead
5. Day of the Dead

Michael Meyers is the boogie man. Zombies are the only monsters that truly scare the crap out of me still today. Chain saws are scary, scary things, and I don't want them near my softer parts.

1) The Exorcist--scary because it was based on a true story & it's just FREAKY!
2) The Shining-- I Looooove Jack.
3) The Amityville Horror--the original version. Jodie freaked me out!
4) The Changling-- George C. Scott classic
5) The Others-- Loved the twist!

Here is my list of 5. Now before you start to attack, I was was younger when these came out so they were creepier back then. Now I can just watch them and laugh...

1. Phantasm

2. Poltergeist

3. The Exorcist

4. Nightmare on Elm Street

5. Child's Play

My all time favorites are all there. Sadly this list couldnt be the top 10 otherwise I would have some honorable mentions like. "Fright Night", "Friday the 13th", "Candyman" and "Hellraiser".

1. poltergeist
2. the exorcist
3. the exorcism of emily rose
4. texas chainsaw massacre
5. sixth sense

i was forced to watch poltergeist when i was about 9 which led to me being terrified of closets, the dark and clowns. i still cant watch that movie and im 29. the exorcist is still scary and it was way ahead of its time....and exorcism of emily rose hit too close to home. i had that happen to me in the middle of the night.....except it stopped there. texas chainsaw massacre wasnt scary to me but i loved the gore and cant wait till the prequel comes out! same with sixth sense..not scary but when it came out, it was one of a kind and started the whole "ghost" explosion.
