Spike Lee and HBO did an excellent job. "When The Levees Broke" will definitely win a Cable Ace Award. It was not Spike's story, it was the Gulf Coast survivor's story. Black, White , poor, middle class, and wealthy eloquently described America's greatest national disaster as it unfolded to the present. Not to be missed!

as the other person said, Spike isn't into white people, and I won't watch it because we will have the whole blame game thing going on in overdrive. Always the innocent waif minority being put down by the man.....hasn't evolved one bit from the Black Panther
mentality in late 60's Blaming never accomplished anything, and is infantile. Spike Lee has been playing the race card for years,
eliciting the "white guilt" strings like a master violinist. You can get only so far by blaming the "man". Thats why I wont watch or read about the new katrina documentary

I did.It was very candid and eye opening. It made me realize why so many of them were suspicious about the levees and the government.I did try to keep in mind that it was Spike Lee,he has a way of depicting things in such a real way that it provokes anger, which is good in some cases.I say this because it seems that so many people have chosen to ignore some of the harsh realities that exist among minorities,or they are just ignorant and really believe that they are looked upon by everyone as equals. The truth of the matter is that the government has a way of keeping minorities just that. Some ,most will never rise above their present conditions, not because of lack of knowledge, but lack of resources, and as long as there are crooked, cruel, unethical, racist, persons in the white house and holding senate seats...this will never change.I do believe it when my bible says..."the first will become last and the last will become first." It's one of the things that keep me going...to know that all this suffering, and struggling is not in vain.

Since I am more focused on your question unlike others.
Yes I saw the documentary. It was great, just so hard to go through all that devastation again.
