I think that you can wear white if you want to. I think that you just have to wear it in moderation. Instead of a bright white sweater or jacket try to wear a "winter White" (winter white meaning an off white) or a cream color. So I say go wear white if you want to and you think it looks good or you wear a white substitute, but still in the white family. And don't listen to the other rude people, I think that it is nice that you care about what you look like.

It used to be the rule was no white anything (no white pants, shoes, shirts, etc) after Labor day. White is a summer-only color.
Nowadays people tend to ignore the rule a bit. I'd say just use common sense... they're probably fine to wear in Sept but put them away before December.

Hear that a lot.. don't wear white after labor day. It is just a style thing that has been around for years... personally, I'll be wearing a white shirt, white shoes and white hat on Tuesday because I think it's a lame rule lol

i dont think there is a legitimate reason for white shoes after labor day but most women don't wear white after labor day because the seasons are changing and fall colors ( browns, reds, blacks) and white is considered a cool color, known to reflect heat. Also it is a color that shows dirt easily. most white shoes besides tennis shoes, are white or bright colored sandles. I don't think there is a written law about it, I could be wrong. But I've always heard you dont wear white after labor day. Have wonder why myself many times.

i do not see a difficulty with wearing black to a wedding ceremony. I in basic terms did some weeks in the past actual. Black is a suitable colour and maximum weddings are formal events. Now as for the white shoes after troublesome paintings day. look out for Serial mom in case you opt for to attempt this.

Urban legend? What urban legend have YOU heard that had anything to do with wearing white after labor day? It is simply a fashion faux pas is all.

Is an old tradition -- do not wear white in general after Labor Day.
Not binding unless you care what grandma thinks about things like that.
