I lost a baby 5 years ago and when I had some tests done to find out what the problem was. I was told I had two seperate wombs. Was just wondering if anyone else had this or has heard of this before

My first child was delivered natuarlly but at 24 weeks. On the ultrasound scans for this they thought it was a double womb but after a hystoroscopy and a lapaoscapy they discovered it was definatly 2. The doctors think they can get me to 30 weeks pregnant but not much more than that, but I have to have some more tests before a get pregnant again to make sure.

Yes, I've heard of this- some case on court tv.I would look it up on a women's medical sight. It is rather rare, but It's awesome you found out about it, as it is hard to detect I remember, you must have had a pretty good dr. for him/her to dicover it.Best wishes, do more research!!

I saw a story on TV where a woman had two and only discovered it when she became pregnant. Apparently it is a form of a birth defect talk to your OB/GYN to get details and how it will effect a pregnancy.

Yes, this is a "developmental anomaly" and is not as rare as you would imagine it to be. As a matter of fact, there is more than one kind of "double uterus."

Don't worry, it does NOT affect fertility, but you will probably deliver by C-section.
