Imagine this scenerio... Notre Dame, West Virginia and Oklahoma all go undefeated this season.

Who plays in the national championship game?

West Virginia probably gets left out in the cold because their schedule is not nearly as tough as Notre Dame or Oklahoma. But is that fair?

(PS... tell me what you think about the BCS not what you think of my scenerio. I was just giving an example. Please don't write 30 lines about how much you think ND sucks.)

Please, the NCAA and all of the college presidents won't allow for the BCS to run away... It's worth too much TV money and bowl sponsorships. Which of the 4 BCS bowls would like to be a national semi-final game??? national semi-final Fedex Orange BOwl??? I doubt this will ever happen... just too much money involved in college sports, where the players don't see jack, but get exploited by their school and the evil empire, which is the NCAA!!!

Naturally, a playoff system would be the only legit way to crown a national champion. To this point though, I think the BCS is the best thing. Much better than the old AP system, because AP voters are very biased, and it shows in their voting. Take Notre Dame for example, didn't beat a single ranked opponent last season, but this season they are voted #2. Go figure. At least the BCS takes into consideration things like strength of schedule, and other various formulas to calculate a ranking.

The BCS is a joke-pure & simple. The only way the BCS will be abolished is if 2 things happen,

1. A huge scandal-such as several prominent teams going undefeated & a disputed champion is crowned.

2. The "powers that be" find a way to make more money out of a playoff system than they already are from the bowl games.

Until then we are stuck with the joke that is the BCS.

Well I have not been a fan of the BCS at all. Even though the BCS is good for my fav team Florida State. I still think that teams like USC wouldn't have won the championship the way they did. I am not going to hate on them but there are other teams out there that deserves a shot. That's why I think a playoff bracket needs to be in affect ASAP. That's my thought and I am off the hotseat, thank you. LET'S GO SEMINOLESSSSS!!!!

The only time they will REALLY consider a playoff is if we end up with 2 or more undefeated teams in BCS conferences or if a team like TCU or Marshall ends up undefeated and the National champion ends up with 1 loss. Those things would cause enough of an uproar that they will consider it then.

For the BCS to be abolish it will take an act of god or a couple of seasons were 3 or more teams go undefeated and some teams to complain about it so much that they will have to make some rule changes.

Stop watching the Bowl Games. Yeah that scenerio would suck, but it is about the only way. If they stop making money they will be forced to listen to the people WITH that money.

OK enough claiming the College Atheletes get "nothing." First they get their college totally paid for, and for alot of kids a scholorship is their only ticket to college. Proably most of them only get in those schools and only pay for them by that scholorship, they might have gone to college but not that big name one. Then the NCAA makes them STARS so they can demand those contracts from the NFL.

Ok kyle N.D. DID beat ranked opponents last year. May not deserve to be at #2 but no need to LIE about what they did. First game they beat then ranked Pitt. Pitt may have finished terriable and unranked, BUT that's not N.D.'s fault. Also N.D. LEGALLY should have beat USC since Bush admits he ILLEGALLY pushed Lienhart into the endzone.

I think it will take divine intervention to change ANYTHING that matters with the BCS. :) All the changes they make just ADD more games, instead of making it less confusing as to who should be in the title game. I think the BCS still needs a lot of work. West Virginia would get left out. You are absolutely right. :)

Nothing in College football is fair. It's all about making money and the power conferences make all the money in the BCS system. The only way the system will be abolished is if it ceases to make a lot of money for the BCS conferences.

Sucks, but that's the way it is.

there is a very good chance that west virginia will emerge as the only 12-0 team...

i don't believe the bcs would honestly rate them as #1 and put them into the nat'l championship game...it's $$$$$$$$...

the only rational answer is a playoff...

division 2 and 3 have done it for years...and it works...
