I care about the important things. But I'm old enough now to have learned that there are many, MANY things that just aren't worth worrying or even caring about. Don't sweat the small stuff. Life goes on.

They are in denial. They really do care in all actuality but they put on a front like they don't. People adapt to the way the world treats them. They are so arrogant these days and they care for only themselves because they think that no one cares for them. Some people actually don't care for others and the reason for that is because the world can be a bad place to live at times and so we tend to be cruel because we might have been treated unkindly. so just ignore the ignorance and just do your part by being a good person;D and maybe throw a smile to someone that might need one. Even if they don't smile back, its okay. Just be happy anyway!

"people" -- ALL of them?
You are flat-out wrong here. Lots of people care.
Look at the continually growing groups of people who speak out and act because they care a lot about the well being of humans and other living things.
Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity (to name a very, very few -- I could name dozens, and not even begin to scratch the surface).
Look at the thousands of blogs written by people who care and click some of the links on them of organizations created and filled with people who care.
Look at your own town or city -- there will be small groups of people there who care, and are actually doing things.
Look at all of the professions that people went into and stay in because they care (teachers spring to mind -- god knows they aren't in it for money, power, or glory).
They're all over the place. Sure, there are too many who don't care, but there are a lot who do.

It usually seems like society is used to thinking about themselves more and more with school, career, relationships, etc.
But, if you look at all the charity and volunteer organizations in JUST the U.S. (Red Cross, Oprah's Angel Network, websites online that make a difference from people just visiting the website and clicking a button, Big Brothers Big Sisters, etc.) it shows there are a lot of people in the world that still care, but just need the opportunity to show it.
Hope that helps, and maybe even make you feel a little better. :)

Alot of people do still care, however the world has become such a crazy place to live in. There are more murders and horrible things going on now than ever. Negative people spread their negative additudes on to others and people begin to feel there is no good left. But there are still a few of us who do care.

I care. Most likely most if not all people care. They just don't care for others or what others care about. Everyone has different values. One who cares more for his dog than he does for his child, simply values his dog more and the child is in the street.

yeah you are right. I have a friend that practically lives by this. He has not had a steady job for a while (he's 24) doesn't pay rent, but "who cares"?

It's sad, but true. For the most part, people only care about themselves.
