On my first daughter, about 45 mintues(darn epidural). Then with my second daughter, about 10 minutes, almost had her without doctors or nurses in there(and no drugs, thank God!!!). I think it all depends on how many kids you have, which is not always the case. Or, whether you have any drugs or not. When you get an epidural, it can be hard to push, because you don't know how hard you are pushing. Or at least, that is my experience. All women are different. And they did not have to use vacuum or forceps, they only use those if you need help, or if the baby is having hard time coming out.

no forceps or vacuum for me either and I'm thinking I only pushed for a few minutes. I know they called the doctor to the hospital at about 12 am and my son was born at 12:38 am but in between they moved me from the labor room to the delivery room and got everything in place. That took some time, so maybe 10 15 minutes? My son was 8 lbs, 13 oz. His collar bone broke during delivery. I remember that and the doctor telling me I had some monster hemorrhoids!

With my first child i was in labor for 9 hours and pushed twice. With my second child labor was 12 hours and pushed once actually delivered it on my own my husband and i because the doctors were to busy with other people they didn't come to us soon enough eventhough my mother was outside my room yelling at the top of her lungs for a doctor because i was having my baby. With our third one i was in labor for 6 hours pushed two times. Thank God no forceps or vacuum were needed. Good Luck:)

I didn't take lamaze classes nor did I listen to the doctor...I pushed for a total of 5 minutes. No they didn't use forceps or the vacuum. I'd suggest to anyone going into labor just to do what feels right...literally!

They used forceps with my oldest, and I think I probably pushed for about 10 minutes at the most. Once you start, you kind of just keep going, it's pretty quick, however you are not thinking that when it's happening.

I pushed 3 times and they had to use the vacuum and forceps. He had a cone on his head for a long time afterwards. I had to massage his head for awhile to get it down.
