What was a stupid misconception you had as a child?

For instance: I thought that Mt. Rushmore was completley nature made. I thought that it was a big coiencidence that there was a big rock that happend to look like the faces of 4 presidents.

I thought black and white pictures were that way because the world was black and white back then.

I thought when people told me I could be anything when I grew up, that it meant anything. And for while when someone would ask me what I want to be when I grew up, I'd respond with any of the following: "The wind" "A tree" "A rabbit" "A butterfly". What can I say, I liked the outdoors.

I still want to be the wind....
