Unfortunately the BCS is still the way they do things. They can rumor all they wanted but it's whatever I am tired of it. There was another guy that said there were to many teams for a playoff which is true but I think that they can bracket the top ten and make them do a playoff. This will give anyone in the top ten near the end of the season a chance to win the national title. Or the top 8 that might work better. But thats just my thought.

Unfortuantely, it will remain a BCS- related game until someone comes up with a more lucrative system that still includes the bowls. The argument is that without the "atmosphere" of a bowl game that interest in the championship would wane, the season would be too long and etc. Hawaii is playing a 13 game regular season now, so I don't see the validity of their argument. Besides, with an 8-team playoff using BCS bowl games sites, I don't see how it could be any less "interesting". The champion of a given year in my ideal system would play a 12 game regular season (13 in a split conference like the SEC, ACC, Big 12 et al) then 3 playoff games, giving them no more than 16 or 17 games to play which is no longer that an NFL season! Hawaii's 13 comes from the NCAA allowance that helps them recoup their monstrous travel expenses to the mainland by scheduling an extra game at home. If Hawaii were to play in a preseason classic, then 13 regular season games, then the conference championship game and playoffs, running to an improbable title, theirs would be a worst-case scenario of 18 games. No one else would play more than 17 in the same scenario which would make the MONEY the bowls and schools and NCAA crave to keep this tradition alive, so I fail to see the point in the NCAA argument! Players can get hurt as easily in practice as the end of a long season, exams can be taken before Christmas, and the championship game could be played by the end of January! Oh well, it's a nice dream! Thanks for reading my ramble and have a great day!

It is still the BCS format. They are still in contract with this BCS crap, but I think the contract is up in a couple years. I would love a playoff formula, but dont expect it at anytime soon. The powers that be, wont change it. Its a money thing.
The only time they will REALLY consider a playoff is if we end up with 2 or more undefeated teams in BCS conferences or if a team like TCU or Marshall ends up undefeated and the National champion ends up with 1 loss. Those things would cause enough of an uproar that they will consider it then.

It's still the Bull Crap Series. Until the university presidents find a way to make more money with a real playoff system it won't change.
