There is a mystical, secret formula that gas gougers, sorry, gas stations use to set prices. Part of the formula is determined by supply, not demand. If Quebec has a small inventory of diesel, the supply is limited and the price goes up.

The other part of the formula is determined by what oil companies can get away with. I'm tired of the up and down differences of diesel to gasoline. Sometimes diesel costs less, sometimes more. A month ago, diesel cost 14 cents a litre less than gasoline, then it cost a penny more, and now it costs about a nickel less. But, if you go to a station that offers a 3 cent a litre discount on gas, you don't get it on diesel. So at that station, if gas is advertised at 99.9 per litre, you really pay 96.9. Diesel is advertised at 97.9 and you pay 97.9. And this is in Alberta, oil central of Canada.

It's all a ripoff. At least I get better fuel economy with my turbo diesel.

Too low. Peoplehere in u . s . of america favor to whinge about a $4.00 in accordance to gallon ordinary yet they fail to understand that Europeans are paying two times the cost and in some arising international locations, nominal earnings is so low that they are actual earnings can not have the funds for to pay for it. the distinction lies interior of American life. the mandatory automobile the following consumes almost two times the quantity of gasoline than those in Europe, yet we use them for the same puprose: to get to artwork. in case you force 35 miles primary, then per chance you need to have executed really of marketplace diagnosis and attempt to foretell the destiny grant of oil and its cost (or you could seem it up on all 6 of the ability branch web pages, no worry in any respect). not affirming we could continuously do this with each little thing, yet come on, maximum guzzlers belong to those who survived the '70s disaster. there is yet another element: all the persons who whinge about severe gas expenses not in ordinary words force gas guzzlers, yet they stay in tremendous, spread suburban neighborhoods that are a ways faraway from artwork. there became a disaster contained in the '70s, skeptics and conspiracy theorists have envisioned $4.00 a gallon for years (including the gov), and, after factoring inflation, gas peaked at $3.40 9 in 2005. base line is clientele the following are not very smart. there is not something incorrect with paying for an opulent automobile in a miles off suburb in case you could have the funds for and also you're positive you usually will be in a position too. in case you acquire a gas guzzler after Operation Iraqi Freedom, or extra constructive yet October of 2005, then you truthfully extremely should not be complaining because you already experienced an improve in expenses- I picked up on all this and that i became in ordinary words 17 in 2005! (it really is why i'm interpreting econ immediately). I say enable the expenses upward push- finally human beings will understand to tell apart between luxury vs.necessity and study tat the 70s gasoline disaster is in ordinary words a glimpse of what could extremely ensue. through how, that became my political answer. my econ answer would were "brilliant" because this is the position the marketplace needs, a lot less those stupid taxes that ensue to be a ways decrease then something else of the international's besides.
